United Airlines has quietly made its MileagePlus pooling feature more valuable by changing one of the program's biggest limitations.
United first introduced miles pooling in 2024, and allowed up to five MileagePlus members to pool some or all of their miles into a collective pot that can be used to book award flights for someone in (or out) of the pool.
That setup has some obvious benefits. But with many loyalty programs — including United's — it comes with trade-offs, too.
