JetBlue has finally unveiled BlueFirst, its new domestic first class product, and I find myself a bit more optimistic about it than some of the initial reaction suggests. No, JetBlue has not reinvented domestic first class the way it once reinvented transcontinental business class with Mint. But a comfortable recliner, excellent technology, free Wi-Fi, interesting drinks, and potentially good food sounds like a perfectly respectable product to me and certainly better than the status quo.

JetBlue Unveils BlueFirst Domestic First Class With New Seats, Meals, And Seatback Ordering

We’ve known for some time that JetBlue was adding a traditional first class cabin to aircraft that do not offer Mint. Now JetBlue has formally unveiled BlueFirst, including the seat, meals, drinks, and other amenities that will come with it.

The first aircraft will debut later this year, with BlueFirst ultimately appearing throughout JetBlue’s non-Mint fleet.
