Hilton flipped two luxury resorts to all-inclusive hotels on October 1, Marriott already runs 38 and Hyatt is king. How does this change point redemptions?
Waldorf Astoria and Conrad are both luxury flags, and Hilton’s global head of all-inclusive and resorts, Sylvia Scholey, said that “today’s travelers want the freedom and ease of an All-Inclusive resort.” Hilton is also adding Amàre Cancun, an adults-only Curio Collection resort with 429 keys scheduled to open October 31, 2026. Hilton says it has more than 100 hotels open in Mexico and nearly 50 more in development, though the brand did not share how many of those would be all-inclusive.
Hilton has answered for its two conversions. At the low-end rates quoted, 140,000 points against $670 works out to roughly 0.48 cents per point at the Waldorf, and 109,000 against $430 is about 0.39 cents at the Conrad. That’s from lowest published prices I could find, which adjust seasonally. My personal redemption valuation for Hilton has been consistently at 0.4 cents per point so the Waldorf is a slight deal, and the Conrad a pinch under what I’d like to see but not enough to decide against using points if I was flush with Hilton Honors.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
