Two Air New Zealand pilots reportedly became involved in an altercation during a San Francisco layover, forcing the airline to bring in a replacement pilot and leaving passengers facing cancellations and a 14-hour delay.
The airline has not disclosed precisely what occurred, but confirmed the investigation in a statement:
Passengers booked on the September 7 flight were subsequently informed that their departure would be delayed by more than 14 hours because Air New Zealand needed to fly another pilot to San Francisco (it appears the crew set to operate on the 7th was used to operate on the delayed September 6th flight).
