In the latest round of the REAL ID Clown Show, the TSA has announced that starting February they will implement a US$45 non-compliance fee that passengers will be charged if they attempt to travel with an insuffent form of Identification.

The penalty would become due when TSA is required to run an additional background check on a passenger who presents a simple drivers license or state ID without federal endorsement or who forgot their ID entirely.
