Two tourists allegedly pulled off an elaborate diamond swap at a jewelry store in Singapore, but their escape lasted only a few hours. Police arrested them at Changi Airport before they could leave the country.

The men, Mangroliya Manojkumar Kurjibhai, 41, and Serasiya Milan Ramnikbhai, 30, allegedly traveled to Singapore with a counterfeit diamond manufactured to match a genuine 4.95-carat stone, right down to its specifications and serial number.

(hardly an impulsive shoplifting attempt…)
