Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the country's fifth-busiest airport in terms of passenger numbers, according to the Official Airline Guide (OAG).
In 2025, more than 45 million passengers traveled to, from or through LAX. The airport is a massive hub, connecting passengers from North America to South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and, once Royal Air Maroc launches its service to Casablanca soon, Africa.
Although there's plenty to keep travelers busy in and around LAX, if you find yourself with a long layover, you might need to stay at one of the nearby hotels. What's more; the airport is also just a 10-minute drive from SoFi Stadium, where FIFA 2026 World Cup matches will be played this summer — so if you are just taking a quick in-out trip to catch a game, a hotel around the airport makes for an affordable, convenient choice.
