A Delta Air Lines Airbus A350-900 clipped an Air Canada Boeing 777-200 at Los Angeles International Airport this morning, damaging the aircraft and disrupting travel plans. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, but this is certainly not how anyone wanted to begin a flight to Tokyo or end one from Toronto.
The horizontal stabilizer is the smaller, wing-like surface at the tail of the aircraft.
The Air Canada aircraft (C-FIVK) had arrived from Toronto (YYZ) and was being towed toward its gate. The FAA says it had stopped short of the gate when the collision occurred. Delta’s A350 (N512DN) was preparing to depart for Tokyo Haneda (HND).
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
