My Longest EES Immigration Wait Yet Was In Tiny Nuuk, Greenland

After clearing immigration in Brussels and Lisbon in a matter of minutes, I encountered my longest wait under Europe’s new Entry/Exit System in a rather unexpected place: tiny Nuuk, Greenland.

My Surprisingly Long Immigration Wait In Nuuk

Stepping off the plane into the crisp evening air, I walked into the terminal and found a rather slow-moving queue for immigration.

There were three agents on duty, but processing took time because almost everyone on the flight was a U.S. citizen. Each passenger had to be processed under the new Entry/Exit System (EES), with photographs taken of everyone and fingerprints collected from those who had not previously registered.

As an aside, there was a separate line for EU citizens, and that line moved very quickly.

A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
