Lufthansa is adding Columbus and Phoenix to its network in 2027, with new flights from Frankfurt and Munich. Both are welcome additions, but Columbus is particularly interesting: the Ohio capital will gain its first nonstop European service, and it will arrive with Lufthansa’s newest business class.
The Boeing 787-9 is scheduled to offer 287 seats:
The route also comes through JobsOhio’s Air Service Restoration program, which uses revenue guarantees shared with regional partners to reduce the risk of launching new service (i.e., a hefty subsidy). The announcement does not disclose a guarantee amount specifically for Lufthansa, and the larger financial commitments cited in the release cover the broader program.
