With autumn upon us, it’s time to go back and catch up on the full trip reports from my trips this summer. We’ll begin with my trip to India, which was primarily about flying Emirates First Class but turned into a fun trip to India…until Delhi Belly struck.

I had initially booked my trip for the spring, but when the war in Iran broke out my flight was cancelled and I decided t rebook to the summer. While I know that meant less-than-ideal weather in India, I felt it was important to use a week I had off rather than punt the trip to next winter and hope that everything would work out (i.e., a bird in the hand is worth two in a bush).

From the U.S. to India my goal was to fly Air India’s new A350-900 in business class…in particular, I wanted to fly from Newark (EWR) to Delhi (DEL) nonstop, which would have given me a nearly 15-hour flight flight on Air India. That space never opened so I thought I could fly the SWISS or Lufthansa A350 to Europe, backtrack to London, then fly the A350-900 from London to Delhi. That space also never opened.

A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
