An American Airlines first class passenger on a flight from Dallas to Newark allegedly went from quiet to violent in a matter of moments, attacking his seatmate, spewing racist and homophobic slurs, biting one of the men who restrained him, and ultimately forcing a diversion to Baltimore. By the time it was over, he was duct-taped to his seat and secured with zip ties.
About two hours into the flight, witnesses say the passenger seated in 4A, later identified by authorities as 67-year-old Arthur Lundeen of Arizona, suddenly became belligerent.
