One of the frustrations with the hotel credits that come with some premium credit cards is that the savings don't always feel truly dollar-for-dollar, since the credit card issuer's travel portal may not show the lowest available hotel rates.
In other words, even if you're using a valuable hotel credit from one of your credit cards, if you're paying a higher nightly rate through the booking portal, it can make the savings feel less meaningful.
