Flying Blue has postponed an abrupt devaluation to the elite status credit members earn through sustainable aviation fuel and charitable contributions. I remain skeptical of the underlying scheme, but program chief Tiffany Funk deserves credit for acknowledging the botched rollout, listening to members, and giving them time to adjust.
XP, or Experience Points, determine Flying Blue elite status. Members who had incorporated these contributions into their qualification plans suddenly faced a more expensive path to their goal.
Now, as One Mile At A Time also reports, Flying Blue has postponed the changes until December 1, 2026. The previous earning rates return effective November 4, and contributions made since November 2 will also receive credit at the prior rates.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
