Delta Air Lines has officially announced nonstop service from Austin to Paris next spring, confirming a route first revealed weeks ago by aviation insider JonNYC. The new transatlantic route is notable on its own, but it also raises a larger question: can Delta succeed in building up Austin where American Airlines ultimately failed?
The announcement confirms what JonNYC first revealed weeks ago, when he teased that Delta would soon connect Texas barbecue with baguettes. The new route will operate aboard an Airbus A330-900neo, featuring Delta One (pictured above), Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Main Cabin (you can read my Delta One business class of the A330-900neo here).
This will be Austin’s first-ever nonstop flight to Paris and will make Delta the only U.S. airline offering nonstop service from Austin to Europe (British Airways, KLM, and Lufthansa also operate nonstop flights).
