I debated booking F in a 77W just to experience first class on AA once before it is eliminated. Decided instead to take the Flagship Suites Preferred experience on the 789P, especially since AA still hasn’t started charging for those seats.
The first 77-3 ship #7LB failed certification in Hong Kong and is not expected back to the USA until first or second week of September. AA is still staffing the plane with only 11 FA’s so expect typical AA level service but the new cabin will have 16 jump seats. Also expect the two forward toilets next to the cockpit door to be constantly blocked off due to pilot change outs…

And expect the two toilets at the rear number five doors to be locked off as there is no place to park the service carts any longer.
AA received the original 20 77-3’s rather quickly from Boeing as they were airframes originally ordered by JAL which instead ordered more 787’s. The BC seats were originally ordered by Cathay Pacific as is noted in the teal blue color of the bottom seat shell. The order was assumed by AA and all they did was pick a different fabric colour.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on One Mile at a Time.
