American Airlines is telling employees to stop involuntarily bumping passengers from oversold flights, even if avoiding it means offering more compensation or taking a delay. I welcome this…but the real test is whether AA gives its employees the authority and support to make it work.
The central instruction in the memo is quite clear: “No invols” is no longer a goal, it is a company requirement.
