Passengers aboard an American Eagle flight to Philadelphia found themselves evacuating onto a wing in St. Louis after an emergency return to the airport. For one mother onboard, this was also her children’s first flight…quite an introduction to flying.
According to local NBC affiliate KSDK, passengers described a frightening experience that ended with an evacuation. Olivia Clancy was traveling with her two children, both flying for the first time. Reports describe an unusual smell, haze in the cabin, and oxygen masks dropping. After the aircraft returned, passengers used an overwing exit to get out.
I fly so often that I can recite United’s safety demonstration from memory…well, almost. An incident like this is a reminder that knowing where the exits are and listening to the crew is worth a few moments of attention, even on a short regional flight.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
