airBaltic has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York, but the Latvian carrier insists that flights will continue normally while it attempts to restructure a deeply troubled balance sheet.
Fights are operating as scheduled, and no passenger action is required. airBaltic continues to accept reservations and says customer services will proceed normally during the court-supervised process.
So to be clear: airBaltic is not liquidating, nor is there any indication that it will. Chapter 11 gives the airline protection from creditors while it attempts to negotiate more sustainable terms and reorganize its finances. The carrier expects to complete the process by June 2027.
