Air India Demands US$1.5 Billion In Fresh Funding From TATA & Singapore Airlines After Record Loss

Permanent loss-maker Air India is now seeking about US$1.5 billion (S$1.9 billion) in fresh equity from its owners, Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, resulting in strong condemnation from Singapore politicians.

For some unknown reason, SIA management which was always known for making sensible decisions, got lulled in to the idea that India is a market where profits can be made and Air India – one of the worst airlines on the planet – is the tool to utilize to earn them.
