France’s expensive wager on premium travel is paying off, demonstrating that first class can still be very smart business when an airline understands its customers, its market, and its brand.
Chief Executive Ben Smith believes the airline’s costly investment in luxury is helping to insulate it from the effects of the war with Iran, including higher fuel prices and disrupted travel patterns.
This does not mean wealthy passengers are indifferent to economic conditions, but it does mean that a traveler purchasing La Première is less likely to abandon a trip because the fare increased by several hundred…or even thousand…dollars.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
