Air China is launching an unusual new route to Iceland via Copenhagen, creating a fifth freedom link that will offer lie-flat business class seats between Denmark and Keflavík. For travelers who find Icelandair’s premium cabin underwhelming, this could be a very attractive alternative.
The flight will operate with an Airbus A330-300 and, as One Mile at a Time notes, passengers will be able to book Air China solely between Copenhagen and Iceland, making CPH-KEF a fifth freedom route (in which an airline carries passengers between two foreign countries as part of a longer service originating or terminating in its home country).
