I love Greece. The country is beautiful, the people are lovely, and the cuisine is my favorite in Europe. But Greece in the summer? No way. No thank you. And this scene from Crete explains exactly why.
The footage, filmed in late August, shows hundreds of tourists packed tightly together at the narrow landing point for excursion boats, with a seemingly endless line stretching along the shoreline. The person who filmed it captioned the scene, “Arriving at the natural wonder of Balos Beach in August.” That about sums it up.
Good grief.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
