The views coming into Greenland were majestic on my United Airlines flight to Nuuk.

Greenland is fairly desolate, but quite mountainous and some mountains are covered in snow. As we descended, I did not know quite what to expect, though when we descended below the clouds there was tundra and floating ice immediately visible.

All of a sudden, as we flew through the Davis Strait (the body of water connecting Baffin Bay to the north with the Labrador Sea and the Atlantic Ocean to the south, situated between western Greenland and Baffin Island, Canada), the sun peaked through the clouds and we were treated to stunning views as we approached Nuuk.

A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
