Air Tahiti has taken delivery of an ATR 72-600 with just 26 business class seats, offering a much more comfortable way to reach Bora Bora and other islands in French Polynesia. I tend to think this is a brilliant concept: inter-island flights are already expensive but this have an appeal to the “luxury all the way” crowd for which money tends to be no objects for trips to Tahiti and beyond.
The airline has taken delivery of one ATR 72-600 configured entirely in business class. Instead of the 70 seats found on its standard ATR 72 aircraft, this one has just 26, arranged in 13 rows of 1-1 seating.
Every passenger gets both a window and direct aisle access. On flights within French Polynesia, window seats often offer amazing views outside when the weather cooperates. The aircraft will serve Bora Bora (BOB) and Raiatea (RFP) from Tahiti’s Faa’a International Airport (PPT), with scheduled flights and charter operations planned.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
