A Porter Airlines flight from Victoria to Toronto was canceled after a toddler refused to sit down and wear a seatbelt, forcing the aircraft to return to the gate and ultimately miss the airport’s overnight runway closure. As a parent, I can sympathize with how awful this must have been for the family. But Porter did exactly what it had to do.
According to CTV News, the aircraft had already begun taxiing when the toddler repeatedly stood up in the seat and would not remain buckled despite efforts from the parents and crew. There are lot of AI photos and videos going around, but I don’t believe this particular kid was captured on video (and even if he was, I would not put his face on this blog).
