Southwest Airlines is reportedly leaning toward Boeing 787s for longhaul international flights. I welcome more competition, but before adding an entirely new fleet, I would like to see whether Southwest could accomplish something worthwhile with the aircraft it already knows…and lie-flat beds.
No final decision has been made. Southwest told Reuters:
But which destinations? That is essential to evaluating whether a 787 makes sense.
