In recent years, we’ve seen Singapore Airlines renovate all of its lounges at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) Terminal 3, which is the carrier’s primary terminal. However, the airline also operates many flights out of Terminal 2, and up until recently, the lounge situation there was pretty underwhelming.
This spring, the airline began a full overhaul of its Terminal 2 lounges. There’s now an exciting update, as the first of these updated lounges has just opened, and the project will continue!
In this post:
Renovations started in April 2025, and will be complete around the middle of 2027. The renovations are happening in phases, to minimize customer inconvenience:
- Construction on the new SilverKris First Class Lounge began in April 2025, and the lounge has now reopened as of November 2025, so the first phase of the project is complete
- Construction on the new SilverKris Business Lounge is expected to begin very shortly (in November 2025), and is expected to take until some point in the spring of 2026
- Construction on the new KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will begin in the first half of 2026, and will wrap up in 2027

Perhaps the most exciting development is that lounge capacity is increasing by roughly 50%. On top of that, lounges will feature upgraded facilities, signature elements from the carrier’s Terminal 3 lounges, and an improved variety of food and drinks.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on One Mile at a Time.
