President Donald Trump’s departure for Dallas was briefly delayed after an emergency evacuation slide deployed from his new Qatari-supplied Air Force One. The president insisted it was merely being “checked,” although reports suggest someone accidentally blew the slide.
Meanwhile, one of the older blue-and-white VC-25A aircraft was moved into position nearby, with stairs placed at its forward and rear doors, suggesting it was prepared to operate the flight if necessary.
