Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana has announced the expansion of its foyer as part of a strategy aimed at strengthening its presence in the events segment, following the growth and increasing sophistication of the MICE market (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) in Brazil, and particularly in Rio de Janeiro.

With 2,808 square meters dedicated to events, the hotel will offer, starting in the second half of the year, even greater space, versatility and comfort, consolidating its position as one of the city’s leading destinations for corporate and social gatherings. The new area has been designed to accommodate everything from strategic meetings and brand activations to congresses, diplomatic gatherings and large-scale celebrations.

The foyer expansion responds to a strong upward trend in the sector. According to data from the DataEventos platform, demand for corporate events increased by 15.96 percent between January and May 2025, reflecting the renewed importance of in-person gatherings as strategic tools for relationship-building, business generation and institutional strengthening. Within this context, Rio de Janeiro stands out as the national leader, accounting for more than 16.4 percent of all corporate events held in Brazil, ahead of states such as São Paulo and Minas Gerais.
