A pair of black passengers claim they were racially profiled aboard a British Airways flight after a flight attendant questioned whether they were supposed to be sitting in their assigned seats. I understand why the interaction felt uncomfortable, but the video offers very little evidence that race had anything to do with it.
The brothers were traveling onward to Lisbon and eventually Cabo Verde. According to their account, a flight attendant came over and questioned whether they were supposed to be seated there. One of the men interpreted the interaction as evidence that the crew member assumed two black passengers did not belong in those seats.
Perhaps there is more to the story than what appears in the brief video. But based on what is shown, I am not persuaded this was racial profiling.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
