American Airlines has now put its most premium-heavy aircraft into service: a reconfigured Boeing 777-300ER with a staggering 70 business class suites, 44 premium economy seats, and no first class. In one sense, this is the end of an era. In another, it has become the most premium aircraft operated by any U.S. airline if we are counting lie-flat seats.
The first commercial flight operated from New York (JFK) to Buenos Aires (EZE) on September 2.
American says the aircraft offers more business class and premium economy seats than any aircraft operated by a U.S. carrier. With 70 Flagship Suites, 44 premium economy seats, and 30 Main Cabin Extra seats, there are 144 premium or extra-legroom seats onboard.
