Aegean and Olympic Air have today finally sent a notice to passengers about significant delays at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” due to a 25% reduction in allowed hourly landings.
Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) are claiming that they cannot safely handle more than 28 landings per hour, down from the previous 36. As the most significant operator at Athens airport, Aegean and Olympic Air flights are significantly delayed, especially those scheduled to operate later in the day.
