American Airlines is finally reopening its Flagship Dining room at Los Angeles International Airport after more than six years. I was among its very first guests when it opened in 2017, and I am glad to see it returning. Even better, qualifying business class passengers will now be able to enjoy what was once reserved primarily for first class travelers.
This is the separate restaurant inside the Flagship Lounge in Terminal 4. The main lounge has been operating; the private dining room is what has remained shuttered.
We sat overlooking the tarmac in a nicely-decorated room with booths, tables, and a well-stocked bar. It indeed felt like a restaurant and represented, especially at the time, a point of differentiation between AA and its competitors.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
