Taking a shower onboard an airplane is wonderfully absurd when you stop to think about it. You are flying in a metal tube at 40,000 feet above the ground, yet there you are standing under warm running water as though you were in a hotel bathroom. Emirates’ A380 first class showers remain one of my favorite aviation indulgences, and my latest flight reminded me how much fun the experience still is.
I have written about the Emirates shower experience before, under a rather less restrained headline. Several years later, the novelty has not worn off.
If your frame of reference is squeezing into a typical aircraft lavatory, walking into one of these is quite a surprise.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
