The cabin breakdown is 12 First Class suites, 106 Club Suites in business, 84 premium economy seats and 215 economy seats. Against the 2013 arrangement, First falls by two while business gains nine and premium economy gains 29; economy is cut by 88. The A380 mid-cabin spans 14 rows, compared with 12 rows in BA’s 777-200ER Club World cabin.
London’s demand for connecting and direct long-haul travel underpins BA’s expanded premium inventory. Former IATA chief economist Ian Pearce said the city has twice as many premium-paying passengers as New York or Tokyo. Heathrow congestion, airport charges and Air Passenger Duty are factors pushing airlines toward higher-revenue passengers. More premium customers also increase pressure on cabin crews.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on InsideFlyer.
