United Airlines is telling crew members that citizenship in certain countries, even as a second nationality, now prevents them from working its Israel flights. An internal memo shared with Live And Let’s Fly lists 29 countries and illustrates how the response to the flydubai cockpit attack is reaching crews far beyond that airline.
The restriction concerns citizenship, including dual citizenship, rather than where someone was born or their religion. United explains:
“Under the new requirement, crew members who hold citizenship or dual nationality from certain countries that do not maintain formal diplomatic relations with Israel may not operate or be onboard these flights.”
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
