Being forced to gate-check a carry-on bag when empty overhead-bin space remains is maddening. It does not, however, entitle you to curse at a flight attendant, block the boarding door, or turn an irritating travel dispute into your removal from the flight.
What we do see is a woman standing in the aircraft doorway arguing with a male flight attendant. She insists that her bag should not have been checked because space remained in the overhead bins and repeatedly accuses the flight attendant of “assault and battery.”
