Hungry on a late-night easyJet flight from Copenhagen to Basel, I ordered the carrier’s “gourmet burger.” It did not look particularly appetizing, but it tasted just fine.
A flight attendant noticed that I was leafing through the buy-on-board menu and asked me if she could answer any questions (do FAs get commissions for selling BOB items?). I asked if the hot items were available on this flight and she nodded and said yes. I asked her to “save me” a hamburger and she agreed and told me she would bring it to my seat after takeoff.
Service began immediately after takeoff and seated near the front, I saw her open a freezer bag and pull out a hamburger, then place it in the oven in the forward galley.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
