Concorde was already fighting for survival when the September 11, 2001 attacks devastated premium transatlantic travel. The attacks did not kill supersonic passenger flight by themselves, but they may have delivered the blow from which it could not recover.
I entered the miles, points, and premium travel “game” in 2004, one year after British Airways and Air France retired their supersonic fleets. Had I started earlier, I cannot say with certainty that I would have found a way onboard. Concorde tickets were painfully expensive, and award opportunities were hardly plentiful.
But I certainly would have tried…and I think I would have found a way.
