Carl Icahn demanded JetBlue board seats in 2024. In the last couple of weeks he sold 8.1 million shares in four sessions, at a worse price every single day.

According to filings, on August 17 he sold 1,014,130 shares at $5.28. On August 18, 2,073,606 shares at $5.07. On August 19, 2,421,326 shares at $4.96. On August 20, 2,620,771 shares at $4.73. Total for the week, 8,129,833 shares. The size of each sale went up as the price went down, which is not what patience looks like.
The filing states that “as of August 18, 2026, the Reporting Persons ceased to be the beneficial owners of more than five percent of the shares of Common Stock and are no longer subject to the reporting requirements of Rule 13d-1(a).” He is down to 12,528,346 shares, or 3.32% of the company.
