Frontier Airlines is finally adding inflight Wi-Fi, and rather than starting with an outdated system, the ultra-low-cost carrier is jumping straight to Starlink. The airline has not yet said whether passengers will have to pay for it.
This will represent a dramatic improvement for Frontier passengers because the airline currently offers no inflight internet at all…Frontier will leap directly from no Wi-Fi to what is arguably the best system currently available.
Starlink uses a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit to provide fast, low-latency internet that can support streaming, video calls, online gaming, and ordinary work without the painful loading times associated with many older inflight systems. Frontier says connectivity will be available gate-to-gate and will also support pilots, flight attendants, maintenance personnel, and ground operations.
A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Live and Let's Fly.
