Marriott Opens The Dali Edition, the Edition Brand's Third China Property

Marriott International has opened The Dali Edition in Yunnan Province, bringing its Edition lifestyle brand to one of Southwest China‘s fastest-growing leisure destinations and expanding the company’s luxury footprint in the region.

The hotel, part of Marriott Bonvoy‘s portfolio, sits at an elevation of 2,090 meters along the slopes of Cangshan Mountain, overlooking Erhai Lake. It marks the third Edition property in Greater China and, by Marriott’s count, the 23rd destination in Edition’s global collection. The property is located roughly 23 kilometers from Dali Railway Station and 39 kilometers from Dali Fengyi Airport, positioning it within reach of the Cangshan Mountain Scenic Area, the Three Pagodas, and Dali Old Town.

The Dali Edition features 151 rooms and suites, including a collection of private villas with swimming pools. Designed by Shenzhen Cheng Chung Design, the property draws on regional materials including aged timber, bluestone, and Erhai Lake pebbles, with expansive glazing and open layouts orienting most rooms toward views of the lake or mountain. Guest rooms begin at 60 square meters, with bathrooms finished in white stone and featuring sunken soaking tubs. The 250-square-meter Presidential Suite includes an indoor pool, private courtyard, and terrace, with ceilings rising more than five meters anchored by a suspended fireplace and a sculptural stone chandelier.
