In the heart of one of Osaka's most vibrant districts, Marriott opened the 256-room Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi on Tuesday, offering a new way to stay in this beautiful Japanese city with points.

The property, which marks the first Series by Marriott hotel in Japan, sits within walking distance of the Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street, the streetwear and coffee-centric Amerikamura, and the entertainment quarter of Dotonbori, according to a statement from Marriott. From the nearby subway stations, travelers can fan out to anywhere in the city.

First introduced last year, Series by Marriott features midscale and upscale hotels with convenient amenities like free Wi-Fi, daily coffee or tea, access to breakfast and fitness centers. The brand is quickly expanding, including in the U.S. and beyond.

A great solo travel tip spotted this week on The Points Guy Articles.
