U.S. Tells Americans To “Depart Now” From 14 Middle Eastern Countries — But Offers No Evacuation Plan

As the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran spreads across the Middle East and air travel in the region remains largely suspended, the U.S. government is now urging American citizens in more than a dozen countries to leave immediately.

In official advisories, the State Department has instructed U.S. citizens to leave using available commercial transportation, while activating a 24/7 task force and encouraging Americans to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive real-time alerts.

The advisory applies to more than a dozen countries across the region, including:
