AmEx Opens 31st Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport

American Express has unveiled the Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), its 31st Centurion Lounge—and the airport’s first-ever proprietary lounge by a credit card issuer. The nearly 18,000-square-foot space features a year-round outdoor terrace with views of the Wasatch Mountains, a ski-lodge inspired Hearth Room, a Blue Roast by American Express coffee bar, two bars and a buffet. The food and beverage menus are curated by The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge.

Inside, the lounge celebrates the area’s vibrant arts community with works from local artists including a mixed-media collage interpretation of the American Express bulldog mascot reflecting Utah’s landscape by Erin Blundell. Near the coffee bar area, a custom ceiling installation by lighting designer Lindsey Adelman takes its cues from constellations in the dark skies for which Salt Lake City is so well-known.

A great solo travel tip spotted this week on Luxury Travel Advisor.
