If Rome is on the horizon for travel plans in summer 2026, stop what you're doing and make reservations at the Thompson Rome. Well located near Piazza Venezia and the Pantheon, the property is now bookable from May 31, 2026, on, according to the hotel's website.
You may recall that TPG added the Thompson Rome to our "most exciting hotel openings of 2025" list. As is common with many new hotel projects, the opening date slipped, but Hyatt says it will now welcome guests to this 69-room Category 8 property at the end of May.
Thompson is one of my favorite Hyatt brands, especially the Thompson Madrid and The Cape, A Thompson Hotel. Its hotels are based in beautiful buildings with panache all their own but are then outfitted with every modern touch you'd expect of a luxury brand. The design sensibility tends to be masculine with warm earth tones and comfortable, clubby furniture.
